MISSIONS & OUTREACH

Missions & Outreach

Calvary Church maintains a missions and outreach program that enables people to be active participants in bringing glory to God by participating in the mission of God. That mission to bring redemption to humankind and all of creation should motivate every member to be a witness from their neighborhood to the nations.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:8

Our Mission: To declare the glory of God among all nations... Psalm 96:3

Our Vision:To see our friends, family, neighbors, the least reached, least evangelized, poor, oppressed, and displaced people of our world bring glory to God through becoming transformed followers of Jesus Christ.

      • We Affirm: Since the church is the only institution that Christ himself promised to build, that everything we do is in obedience to God, to help followers of Jesus Christ become part of a Christ honoring local church.
      • We Affirm: Prayer is foundational to the Missions and Outreach work of Calvary Church and must be integrated into every aspect of this ministry.

Our Values:

      • A Maturing Body: The desired progression for our supported workforce is spiritual growth within the context of a community of believers and the development of being a person who is spiritually reproducing their lives into others.  Matthew 9:37-38; 2 Timothy 2:2; Hebrews 10:25
      • A Serving Community: The Holy Spirit equips each believer to serve and to practice mutual interdependence.  Each member makes a contribution to the church by the use of natural talents, material possessions and spiritual gifts.  As a result, the desired progression is to see Calvary attendees serving within our community and the world.  Matthew 25:37-39, 23:11; Romans 10:14-15
      • A Caring Family: Christians are adopted into God’s family, the church, where they find a web of relationships characterized by commitment and affection.  Because of what God has done in our lives, we seek to show compassion to the poor, oppressed and displaced of our community and targeted areas of the world. Micah 6:8; Luke 4:18-19; Matthew 25:40
      • A Witnessing People: God has entrusted the message of the gospel to His people.  The desired progression is to see His church and individual believers proclaiming the Gospel, seeing lives transformed and churches established throughout the nations, especially those who have yet to hear the gospel. Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47: 9:31
